Country - Slovenia

Slovenia produces wine since the Celts and Illyrians period.

Today its wine production amounts to around 50 million liters only, nonetheless Slovenia ranks in the top 10 countries by wine consumption per capita.

About three quarters of the production is made by white wine, the most famous being Rebula (Ribolla), Malvazija (Malvasia) and Rizling (Riesling).

Among the red common grapes are Merlot, Refošk (Refosco) and Modra Frankinja (Blaufränkisch).
